Overview:

This course is designed for those who are wishing to be appointed as the Fire Marshall/Warden within a business or building. Gain an understanding of fire safety, hazards and arrangements for emergency evacuation procedures, raising the alarm and people management as well as what the employers legal requirements are. Get the information you need to for fill your role as Fire Marshall.

Course structure:

  • Their role as fire warden in the workplace and their legal duties.
  • Basic principles and classifications of fires.
  • Heat transmission and how fire spreads.
  • How to carry out a fire risk assessment.
  • Common causes of fires in the workplace.
  • Control measures to minimise the risk of fire.
  • Structural measures that prevent fire and smoke from spreading.
  • Fire detection, fire warning, and fire equipment.
  • Requirements for fire plans.
  • Emergency evacuation procedures.

Assessment:

After completing the modules a multi-choice questionnaire will need to be completed and on succession, you will receive a Certification in Fire Warden Training.
